Confidential Print: North America, 1824-1961 is a collection of digitized British government documents produced by the Foreign and Colonial Offices. These documents, marked “Confidential Print,” were printed and circulated immediately to leading officials in the Foreign Office, to the Cabinet, and to heads of British missions abroad. The original files are located in the National Archives of the United Kingdom. This collection consists of the Confidential Print documents for the United States, Canada and the English-speaking Caribbean, and it also includes some coverage of Central and South America. These files document the history of North America from a British perspective. Material types include reports, dispatches, profiles of major personalities, political summaries, and economic reports.
