Age of Exploration is a collection of digitized primary sources depicting key events in European maritime exploration from 1410-1920. The materials include diaries, journals, logbooks, manuscripts, rare books, correspondence, scientific and government documents, maps and charts, objects, and early film footage. Major events covered include the earliest voyages of Vasco da Gama, the opening of trade with the Spice Islands, the colonization of the Americas and Australasia, the search for the Northwest and Northeast Passages, and the race for the Poles.
