Asian Film Online
Asian Film Online is a collection of more than 600 narrative feature films, documentaries, and short films. It provides views of contemporary Asian culture and society through the lenses of independent Asian filmmakers. Twenty-six countries across the region are represented, with a strong concentration on China, India, Iran, South Korea, and Southeast Asia. Films address a variety of topics, such as modernity, globalization, women’s agency, social and political change, and cultural and sexual identity.
A searchable transcript accompanies each video. Index terms are assigned to each video to aid in searching. The Alexander Street video platform offers the ability to create playlists, create video clips, permalink to videos, and embed videos in course management systems.
