The Bibliography of Asian Studies (BAS) is a major multi-disciplinary index for the study of East, Southeast, and South Asia. It contains citations for Western-language journal articles, review articles, conference proceedings, chapters in edited volumes, and Festschrift published worldwide that relate to the study of Asia. The database aims to cover a broad range of subjects, with a special focus on the humanities and social sciences. Some of the subjects covered include anthropology, art, economics, history, language, literature, political science, religion, and sociology.
This database is produced by the Association for Asian Studies. It is the electronic version of the print publication Bibliography of Asian Studies, which was published as a standalone title from 1969-1991. Prior to that, it was issued as part of the print publications Journal of Asian Studies (1956-1969) and Far Eastern Quarterly (1941-1956).
1971-present, with earlier material included for selected journals.
