Jacoby Online

Jacoby Online contains digital editions of fragments and testimonia of Greek historians and other authors from antiquity, accompanied by commentaries. Jacoby Online is anchored in the work of Felix Jacoby, who planned a multi-part work of fragments and commentaries organized by type:

1. Genealogy and Mythography
2. Chronography (political-military history)
3. Horography and Ethnography
4. Biography
5. Geography
6. Uncertain authors. Theory of Historiography

Jacoby was able to complete the first 3 parts, which were published as Die Fragmente der Griechischen Historiker: Parts I-III. The platform Jacoby Online includes: 

• Felix Jacoby’s Die Fragmente der Griechischen Historiker: Parts I-III 
• Die Fragmente der Griechischen Historiker Part IV: Biography and Antiquarian Literature (FGrH IV), an in-progress realization of Jacoby’s planned Part IV
• Die Fragmente der Griechischen Historiker Part V: Geography (FGrH V), an in-progress realization of Jacoby’s planned Part V
• Brill’s New Jacoby, a fully revised and enlarged English edition of Die Fragmente der Griechischen Historiker: Parts I-III, featuring additional fragments and texts, English translations, critical commentaries, and a brief reference entry for each historian with a selected bibliography
• Brill’s New Jacoby – 2nd Edition, an in-progress revised and expanded edition of Brill’s New Jacoby
