ICPSR, the Inter-University Consortium for Political and Social Research, is the largest repository of social science data in the world. Since 1962, ICPSR, based at the University of Michigan, has collected and made available the datasets of many major government studies in their entirety, along with polls and surveys conducted by organizations and individual researchers. ICPSR contains over 15,000 studies with accompanying data files, most of which are already prepared for use with statistical software such as SPSS and SAS.
Major datasets in ICPSR include the General Social Survey, World and European Values Survey, American National Election Studies, National Archive of Criminal Justice Data, Health and Medical Care Archive, the International Archive of Education Data, and many more.
Because Rutgers is an ICPSR member institution, Rutgers students, faculty, and staff may download ICPSR datasets. To download datasets, you will first need to create an ICPSR personal account. Please follow the Connection Note instructions above to create and log in with your personal account.
