Nineteenth Century U.S. Newspapers is a collection of digitized newspapers originally published in the United States between 1800 and 1900. It contains around 500 newspapers published in all regions of the United States in both urban and rural communities. The collection includes newspapers published by historically marginalized groups, including African Americans, Native Americans, women’s rights groups, and labor groups. It also includes Confederate newspapers. Each newspaper has been fully digitized and indexed, including all articles, editorials, illustrations, advertisements, serialized fiction, book reviews, weather reports, and other types of content. A wide variety of search options are available, such as author, title, date, location, and material type.
