Zoological Record
Zoological Record is a comprehensive, worldwide index of systemic and taxonomic zoological literature. It covers all aspects of zoology and animal sciences, including behavior, biodiversity, taxonomy, morphology, and nomenclature. It does not cover studies of modern humans, domestic animals, or laboratory experiments on animals. It indexes a wide variety of content types, including books, reviews, conference proceedings, meeting papers, meeting reports, newsletters, and over 5,000 academic journals.
This database is the electronic counterpart and continuation of the print publications Record of Zoological Literature (1864-1869) and The Zoological Record (1870-2016). As the world’s oldest taxonomic reference dedicated to animal biology, Zoological Record also acts as an unofficial register of animal names, and it is a useful resource for determining species novelty.
