Description
Gene is a free database of genetic information from a wide range of species. It focuses on genomes that have been completely sequenced and that have an active research community to contribute gene-specific data. In total, it includes sequences from thousands of distinct taxonomic identifiers, ranging from viruses to bacteria to eukaryotes. It represents chromosomes, organelles, plasmids, viruses, transcripts, and millions of proteins. Gene records include nomenclature, Reference Sequences (RefSeqs), maps, pathways, variations, phenotypes, and links to genome-, phenotype-, and locus-specific resources worldwide.
