ArchiveGrid is a centralized tool for discovering archival materials held by over 1,000 libraries, museums, archives, and historical societies worldwide. It includes over 5 million entries for historical records, personal papers, family histories, images, and more. Many entries consist of descriptions of physical materials, but some also include links to digitized content. Some entries are MARC bibliographic records harvested from WorldCat, while others are finding aids contributed by institutions. Finding aids are detailed descriptions of archival collections written by archivists. In ArchiveGrid, each finding aid entry links to the full finding aid on the institution’s own website.
