On Exhibit at Robeson Library: Celebrating 10 Years of Jersey Collective

Marking its 10th anniversary, Jersey Collective is a creative celebration of the Garden State. The project is the brainchild of Rutgers alum Kerri Sullivan, a librarian and photographer who wanted to connect a community of creative New Jerseyans inspired to capture what New Jersey looks like through their eyes and find new things to explore. Initially an Instagram project with weekly takeovers, the project expanded into an annual art show, sticker machine, card game, as well as a book and literary series.

Celebrating 10 Years of Jersey Collective exhibit detail

Co-curated by Sullivan and Robeson Librarians Bart Everts and John Powell, this new exhibit reflects the evolution of the Jersey Collective project, from early images pulled from Instagram and exhibits, to the book of essays published by Rutgers University Press, and everything along the way. Says Sullivan, “To this day, Jersey Collective is my creative outlet. If there’s something I want to do, I find a way to make it Jersey-related and then release it as a project of Jersey Collective.”

In that spirt, the Robeson Library will be hosting a Jersey Collective themed game night and an author talk by Sullivan during the fall semester to accompany the exhibit.
