Biographical Archive of the Middle Ages includes biographical information on more than 97,000 persons from Europe and the Middle East who were prominent in politics, literature, religion, art, and other fields during the Medieval period. This biographical information is from nearly 130,000 articles that were microfilmed and digitized from nearly 200 standard reference volumes published by K. G. Saur. Each person's biographical data includes a link to the digitized article(s) in which that person is described.
Biographical Archive of the Middle Ages is part of a larger collection, World Biographical Information System Online, but it is the only module of that collection for which Rutgers has full access to the digitized articles. For all other modules of World Biographical Information System Online, Rutgers has access to the basic biographic and bibliographic data but not to the full articles.
Biographies on persons living during the Middle Ages (500-1500 CE), compiled from the 17th century – 2002.
