National History Day
We are happy to welcome students to the library and assist them with their National History Day research. In the library, we can provide access to our subscription databases as well as printed and microform resources in our general collections. Special Collections and University Archives holds primary and secondary sources mostly related to the the history of New Jersey, which may be useful for some student projects. Our librarians and archivists can provide your students with hands-on instruction in searching for both primary and secondary sources, then help them with research projects on their own or in teams.

General guidelines for class visits
- Maximum 30 students (8 max in the Special Collections reading room)
- Minimum 1 adult per 10 students
- Send a list of students' research topics at least one week in advance
- Encourage students to use available secondary sources before visiting the library. Greater familiarity with the topic will enhance their research experience.
- Students are welcome to return for follow-up visits if they need more time; this may especially be the case for archival research
